Dot SE Domain Registration

The dot SE country-specific extension was launched in 1986 and delegated to Sweden. During the first years after its launch, the registration procedure was pretty restrictive, so a very small number of domains were ordered. Persons could order only one domain under .PP.SE (“pp” stands for “private person”). Local presence was compulsory, i.e. only Swedish individuals, business entities and organizations could register a .SE domain. In 2003, however, the registration process was liberalized a lot and, accordingly, the number of dot SE domains has been increasing each year.

At this time, anybody can order a .SE name, which allows you to reach the Swedish web community even if you do not have a local presence. We are amongst the firms that offer such domains, taking into account that they cannot be obtained directly from the Registry. We can also help you with the registration process because the Registry needs certain documents such as an ID for persons or a registration certificate for firms. The .SE country-specific domain is also one of the domain extensions that can be used for the so-called “domain hacks”, i.e. using a domain with a specific TLD to represent a word. A couple of examples would be “ofcour.se”, “endor.se”, etc., so you can register an appealing and easy-to-memorize domain name. Such a name will also be easy to share, which can increase the popularity of your site.
